This unique hand-thrown vase by Thuy, crafted in March 2024, features a charming mud crab motif at its center. The crab’s belly is subtly indented, offering a secure and comfortable grip when handling the vase.
The brown-purple glaze, a signature of Thuy’s wood-fired creations, is both unpredictable and captivating, making every firing a delightful surprise. Thuy particularly loves this glaze for its ability to highlight her intricate hand-painted details, enhancing the vase’s aesthetic value.
Perfect for displaying flowers on a table or serving soju in a Japanese-inspired style, this vase is both functional and a work of art, blending rustic charm with refined craftsmanship.
Each product is fired twice in a wood kiln. The first firing is a bisque firing at 800°C for 9 hours, followed by glazing and a second firing at over 1200°C for 20 hours, to achieve the final product.
